On May 20-22, 2014, a seminar on alternative methods of resolving commercial disputes was held. It was sponsored by the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP), U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, and in coordination with the Ukrainian Mediation Center at Kyiv Mohyla Business School.
Among the speakers were:

David Miele, Economic Counselor, U.S. Embassy in Ukraine;
Galyna Yeromenko, Director, Ukrainian Mediation Center;
Yuliya Chernykh, Chartered Arbitrator, UK ARBITRADE;
Jay Folberg, mediator and arbitrator, executive director of the Institute of JAMS, Emeritus Professor of Law;
Tim Limey, Senior Legal Advisor, UNCITRAL;
Hartmut Rank, Advisor to the President of the Lviv Chamber of Commerce;
Elena Perepelynska, counselor of law firm "Sayenko Kharenko ", member of the Governing Council of the Ukrainian Arbitration Association.
Expert presentations, interactive challenges, and discussions about the realities and prospects of mediation and arbitration aroused great interest. Participants discussed the steps needed to develop ADR in Ukraine. Meetings are expected to continue in the near future with CLDP support.
