Usually we say that mediation is profitable and we hope people will hear us.

The cartoon by our graduate Oleg Grynenko created to show the mediation profits helps tell about mediation not via mind but also through good emotions and show its difference from brokering as well. Switching on emotions to tell about mediation was our old dream. Thank you, Oleg! Dreams come true!

On November 3, 2016, Verkhovna Rada - Ukrainian government - voted to pass the bill "On mediation" in a first reading.

This is important happening for Ukrainian mediators as they were halting at it during past 8 years.

All previous attempts to pass the law and to legally regulate mediation in Ukraine were unsuccessful.

There were 10 bills registered in parliament in 2011-2015.

Is it possible? We were searching for answer with program "Negotiations by interests" participants. It seems that we have reached a consent and the verdict is: it is possible! One could feel the strength of the group's unity when it was walking about the corridors during breaks. People asked us what what company we are teaching. However, the program's participants were people who did not know each other 2 days ago and now they are a team. Does it really work?

UMC has held Employers Confederation of Moldova teaching within the framework of Ukrainian-German partnership. Special cases on tariffs and employees' dismissal negotiations etc. were wrote to conduct the training. Mediators trained by CEDR were the forefront of the group. As always, there were many challenges related to multilateral negotiations.
