Galyna Yeromenko, Ukrainian Mediation Center Director delivered her speech in terms of the EuroLawyer International forum 2010 in London.

The issues of Ukrainian mediation, its beginning and the development perspectives were presented during the speech.

A separate discussion was caused by dilemmas (obligatory and voluntary engagement into mediation, if there’s a need in a special law, if there’s a real problem of competition between the lawyers and the mediators etc.)

The moderator of the session was an experienced English mediator William Marsh. A single interest of all the audience attracted Hannah Tumpel’s speech, a manager of the Committee of mediation ICC (Dispute Resolution Services, Paris) who spoke on the experience of usage of mediation by the ICC members in the world.

Unfortunately not all the speakers, being supposed to deliver their speeches, had a chance to do it because of the natural disaster such as volcanic eruption. At the same time, mediation ability to turn disadvantages into the strengths proved its usefulness for a discussion of an issue of mediation beyond the conference framework.
