April 15, 2015, a round table discussion on the draft law on mediation. The organizators and partners of the project were NAMU, UMC, Academy of Advocacy, NAUKMA. The round table was attended by mediators from Odessa, Kharkiv, Kyiv and others. Cities of Ukraine. We talked about the risks of the main positive aspects of the bill, and that should be taken into account in its revision. The dominant view was that the proposed bill is quite democratic. Avoid excessive government regulation and isolation of which would have a monopoly right regarding registries, accreditation, training of mediators etc. The bill is not about corruption risks. It should be clarified what the status of certificates of training issued before the appearance of the bill is. We decided to create a working group for elaboration of recommendations to improve the bill. All volunteers are invited to participate in the working group.
