On September 11^th, 2013, a meeting of the Club of mediation practices within the Ukrainian Mediation Center (Kiev-Mohyla Business School) was held. The meeting gathered representatives of the Ukrainian Mediation Center Galina Yeremenko and Vladimir Marukhevich, Konnov & Sozanovsky managing partner Alexey Ivanov, Sayenko Kharenko counsel Svetlana Kheda, Paritet partner Elena Tkachenko, and managing partner of S. K. O. Forum Elena Sapozhkova. The process of accepting new members became the main agenda topic.

Considering the Club’s goals and objectives, participants of the meeting defined the main criteria for accepting new members. The candidate has to be a lawyer and needs to have a certificate proving he/she is a mediator. 2 references from the current members would be a plus. Participants of the meeting also made a decision that associate members may also join the Club.

Selection procedure will have several stages. A specially designed application or a CV will be used for the primary acquaintance which will demonstrate not only candidate’s experience, but also the motives of entering the Club. More detailed information may be provided during personal communication on an open meeting of the Club. 

- We are quite optimistic, and we will be glad to welcome new members of the Club. At the same time the procedure of accepting new members and following main criteria are extremely important. Qualification of a one lawyer-mediator will affect the reputation and success of other lawyers and the Club as a whole. Our goal is to unite the most talented and active representatives of the field. Workers of law firms, in-house lawyers, private practitioners – all of them can become the members of the Club. But the requirements are equal to everybody, - sais Konnov and Sozanovsky managing partner Alexey Ivanov, one of the initiators of creation of the Club.
