Independent mediation services

Independent mediation is a special service provided by UMC mediators to assist in conflict settlement.  One of the barriers for the development of mediation in Ukraine is lack of guarantees on securing a real independence of a mediator. Parties to a dispute must trust a mediator to share the information, which otherwise they would not disclose to anybody else. Therefore we separate the process of organizing an independent mediation (participants: the parties and UMS), which secures an independent selection of a mediator, relieves a mediator from the need to discuss financial issues with the parties to a dispute, and controls the quality of procedures and their compliance with mediation principles) from the process of conducting an independent mediation (participants: independently selected mediator and the parties).
